What sort of issues do we work with?
Counselling can help you see more clearly, get perspective, and feel differently about life.
Understanding things differently can help you:
But will counselling help? How many sessions will you need? And for how long?
We’ve helped hundreds, and can arrange therapy that fits your:
We'll listen to your situation. And guide you through.
An initial phone consult is free, and available now. You can get in touch on the number below, or email us for more info at email@example.com.
With respect for your commitment to healing,
I've suffered under you for too long. You...*suffocate* me, and all the good things I know I'm capable of.
We can't continue on this road together, you and I. This has been a long time coming. I think we both know that.
You are uninvited in my life, my home, and my thoughts.
In the last while, there have been (serious) consequences in my mental health from carrying you around... the aftermath from believing the lies you tell me, and embarrassment and shame, because I try to hide you (from me and others).
I'm angry now, that part of me has grown so used to you (likes you even?) - you've become so familiar and so "normal".
But it's too much now. No matter how entrenched in you I've become, or how comfortable with you a part of me is, a bigger part of me realises that the price I'm paying everyday, is too much.
Now I know that the pain of moving on, no matter how hard, will be worth it. Rather than staying trapped in these circles I'm going round in.
I'll probably need help with this. I used to think that was shameful. After all, I'm never enough... right?
But now I know better.
I'm not through it yet, but with the right therapy help, I will be soon.
We all need help from time to time, with traumatic events, life changes, relationship issues, conflict with family members, and other mental health issues.
Getting that independent help from a professional in the field, can free your mind from what you thought an event meant, about you, or your life.
Speaking to a professional counsellor about your issues gives you the opportunity to share your thoughts and feelings, and open up, in a way not usually possible during daily life.
Each session is a safe and supportive space within which to explore and better understand the life issues you face.
Understanding the past and coming to peace with it, provides new avenues for the future, you hadn't realised were there. Many find the experience liberating.
Our independent professionals have multiple years experience, and work with you face-to-face, in discreet and comfortable locations throughout the Newcastle Upon Tyne area. We also offer our service online during the Coronavirus outbreak.

Counselling is usually considered more of a shorter term intervention to assist with a specific issue or situation you're dealing with currently.
Whereas, Psychotherapy tends to be a longer exploration of your core personality, values, and beliefs, and how they came to be, as well as how they moulded you into the person you are today. Both are appropriate, in different circumstances, and according to your needs.
Our team focus on providing a Counselling service, not Psychotherapy.
However, other modalities are available from a selection of our therapists, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR), and others. Please ask when calling.

We can usually arrange a daytime or weekday evening appointment that fits your schedule.
Alternatively, we may be able to work via telephone, or online, if preferred, on an individual basis.
We're offering an online-only service during the current Coronavirus issues.
Weekend appointments are also available by arrangement.
Our counsellors and therapists have experience in a number of therapeutic approaches and can provide support for adults and couples aged 18 or older.
Some, but not all, of our counsellors are able to offer telephone sessions, if this is more convenient - please ask when contacting us.
Issues We Work With
We work with a wide range of issues. If you're struggling with:
...or any number of other mental health issues, talk therapy can probably help.
Initial calls are free, and can help you get your questions answered, and decide if we might be a good fit for you.
How Long Does Counselling Help Take?
We don't offer a "quick fix" solution, or the latest self-help gimmick.
Whilst we would love to help everyone in a single session, sadly this is usually not enough time to allow proper exploration of your feelings, and an appropriate resolution.
We see most individuals for 3-6 weeks or sometimes longer, for deeper issues. We work with young people and more mature alike, serving adults aged 18-65+. We provide counselling services for individuals couples and families.
Counselling is a highly individual experience, and depends on factors very personal to you, and the time you need to process new meanings, attached to old situations.
Throughout your sessions, we'll keep track of your progress together, and make sure we are working towards your desired goals.
Other approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy may offer the opportunity to have shorter or longer term interventions, by arrangement.
See our therapy FAQs for more details.
Your first session is a great opportunity to get to know your counsellor, and feel sure that you are a good match together.
You can ask any questions you want, without fear of judgement.
